"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth." Psalm 46:10
Read, remember, do "...and this one will be blessed in what he does." James
1:25
After four incredible weeks with the girls at Parijat Nestling Home, we've
said our goodbyes and made our way to Calcutta, India where we will be for
the next week or so before we head south down the coast of India to Kakinada.
Some of the Nepali girls who were eager to learn about the Bible. Please be
praying for them in their search for truth, for their director as he works
to provide for them, and for the hair salon that they will set up (using your
donations) that will be used for job training and self-sufficiency for the
center, and for Mohan who you see in the picture as well. He is their tutor
and has just begun reading the Bible and teaching the girls as he goes along.
He's taken part in some of our studies and has been a great help.
Some precious Nepali girls studying Bible by Candle Light :)
We spent a few days of transition in the jungles of Chitwon National Park in
Eastern Nepal and that was great, a much needed time to relax a bit and explore
the beauty of this country. Along the way we were able to see much of Nepali
life in the countryside and even such traditions as the burial service when
the deceased and all of their belongings are cremated. 3 buses later we arrived
in Calcutta, India where we will be for one week. We will visit Shishu Bhavan,
the orphanage that Mother Theresa opened here. Though her beliefs, from what I
know, were not based on faith alone in Christ alone for eternal life, to read
a bit more about her life is surely to expand your own perspective of love
and compassion, to challenge your thinking and to spur you on towards love
and good deeds.
Praises: We see God protecting us in every possible way
and we're meeting many who are hungry to learn more about what we've been taught
about the Bible.
Prayer Requests: Safety, for God to grow seeds of faith that have been planted,
that everywhere we go we would increase His fame and disperse truth, and for
Paparao and his Mission to the Nations in Kakinada, India.
"All that is not given is lost." - ? I cannot remember who said it, only
that it's so true.
