Portion for Orphans Newsletter
October 9, 2007
The children we serve are those who are alone in the world, those who can only
imagine having a mom or dad to take care of them. Thank you for partnering with
us. You have enabled us, as a team, to meet real needs of real orphans around
the world. See below what has been accomplished. ; )

Hope Run 07 helped raise and donate:
$2,500 to China Care:
It paid the rent from June 07 through March 08 on the apartment you see in
the picture below. I have personally visited this place which is home to more
than 15 infant orphans in China. Gui Lu, whose cleft pallet surgery we covered,
lives there. It was also used to purchase a large load of infant formula.
$10,000 to New Life Kilimani Orphanage in Nairobi, Kenya.
This is the second time we've been able to make a donation
of this amount. $2,500 of that is benefiting the Christian pre-school
program for the older children. $7,500 has been given for the overall
needs of the young orphans in their care which includes food, medicine,
and constant loving arms to hold and nurture them. You can see one of
these children in the picture on the right.

Having met these children and their caregivers, I'm doing what I can, speaking
on their behalf, calling everyone I know to join together in what the Bible
calls, 'Pure and undefiled religion before God...'
Thanks to all of you who partner with us. I hope it is a blessing to you.
